On quasi twodimensional XY magnetism and superconductivity of the second kind

چکیده
2014 The role of interplanar fluctuations associated with « parallel » vortex loops is considered in the two coupled problems of XY magnetism and superconductivity of the second kind, in a quasitwodimensional situation. Using an admittedly simplified criterion, it is argued that, for weak interplanar couplings, the critical 3d temperature is related to the multiplication of such loops ; it should be below the Kosterlitz and Thouless temperature where « normal » vortex loops, piercing the planes, would multiply in independent planes. On quasi twodimensional order in XY magnets or superconductors of the second kind. Influence of multiple layering
2014 Extending an earlier reasoning about spontaneous multiplication of interplanar vortex loops, it is suggested that multiple layering of magnetic planes, more strongly coupled within each group than from group to group, decreases strongly the two dimensional fluctuations. This should increase the three dimensional critical temperature roughly proportionately to the number of planes within ea...
متن کاملSuperconductivity of Quasi - Two - Dimensional Tight - Binding Electrons in a Strong Magnetic Field
We have investigated the transition temperature Tc(H) of superconductivity in quasi-twodimensional (Q2D) tight-binding electrons in a strong magnetic field. When the magnetic field is parallel to 2D conducting plane, Tc(H) of the Q2D superconductor is shown to increase in an oscillatory manner as the magnetic field becomes large and to reach Tc(0) in a strong magnetic field limit for the spin-t...
متن کاملCommon energy scale for magnetism and superconductivity in cuprates
Many compounds based on CuO2 planes (cuprates) superconduct below a critical temperature Tc. Some of them show a second phase where a spontaneous static magnetic field appears below a critical temperature Tg, which is lower than Tc. By comparing Tc and Tg in numerous superconducting families, each with its own maximum Tc, we find that the same energy scale determines both critical temperatures....
متن کاملEvidence for spiral magnetic order in the heavy fermion material CeRhIn5
The interplay between magnetism and superconductivity in heavy fermion materials has attracted much interest since the discovery of heavy fermion superconductivity. In several of the Ce based heavy fermion compounds, the behavior of the magnetic order can be understood qualitatively in terms of a simple picture, in which long-range RudermanKittel-Kasuya-Yosida ~RKKY! interactions between the Ce...
متن کاملHigh-field μSR studies of superconducting and magnetic correlations in cuprates above T(c).
The advent of high transverse field muon spin rotation (TF-μSR) has led to recent μSR investigations of the magnetic field response of cuprates above the superconducting transition temperature T(c). Here the results of such experiments on hole-doped cuprates are reviewed. Although these investigations are currently ongoing, it is clear that the effects of high field on the internal magnetic fie...
